Staywarm is a unique energy service designed exclusively for the over-60s. Powergen.co.uk. provide all the gas and electricity at one low fixed price, even through the coldest winters. The cost of Staywarm is based solely on the number of bedrooms your home has, and the number of people who live with you; it can be paid weekly, monthly or even annually. TXU Energi will guarantee that the cost of Staywarm to you will remain fixed for a year from when you sign up. Although the price is reviewed annually, any change will not be based on your individual use of energy. - Use infra-red heaters for working areas instead of heating your whole premises.
- Low energy light bulbs use 80% less electricity than ordinary light bulbs and last up to 10 times longer.
- When it is cold, instead of turning up the thermostat at your premises, set your heating to come on a bit earlier.
- Make sure that the heating is reduced when your premises are closed. e.g. Bank Holidays.
- Make sure that your employees switch off lights when they leave rooms.
- Make sure that roof spaces at your premises are well insulated - with at least 200mm of glass fibre or mineral wool.
- Make sure that external windows and doors at your premises are draught proofed.
- Ventilation is essential for getting rid of smells, fumes and dust. To keep your business ventilation costs as low as possible ensure you have an efficient system.
